When a retired couple bought their ranch-style home, they wanted to better capture the stunning mountain views and create a space for family gatherings that flowed seamlessly to the patio, pool, and vistas.
Walls were removed and the ceiling vaulted to create an open, airy layout. Large steel sliding doors replaced smaller ones, bringing in natural light and panoramic views.
The kitchen was relocated to the front of the house. Bespoke walnut cabinets provide warmth, complemented by unique cabinet pulls crafted by local artist Ben Pruskin. A new skylight above the kitchen island floods the space with natural light. Adjacent is a new, cozy breakfast nook nestled in front of the existing double-sided fireplace.
Guests now enjoy the view from the dining and living rooms and bar with easy access to the patio, pool, and firepit. The bar features a gold-leafed stone backsplash, walnut cabinetry, and a deep brown-burgundy stone countertop.
